Linking data & transformation

Connecting different data sources and customizing your data for in-depth analysis allows you to gain insights from hidden correlations.

Live vs. extract data processing

We teach you the essential difference between a live query and an extract as well as the possibility of aggregating and filtering your data in advance.

Before the freestyle comes the duty: We learn the basics of data modelling in Tableau in order to organize the relationships of our connected data.

You get a quick introduction to the world of data models to understand the basic framework of your data analysis.

In Tableau, data is modeled on these two levels. You will learn to differentiate between them and to define data relationships correctly.

Normalization, data modelling & relationships

We introduce you to the concepts of normalization and modelling and how to clearly define data relationships. Essential steps for designing and using databases efficiently.

Calculations make it possible to create new KPIs from the existing data. This increases the potential of your data analysis enormously and allows you to create insightful drill-downs.

Introduction to calculated fields

You practise creating new calculations based on existing fields (columns) and fine-tune your analysis.

Using the correct operators

Hier steht die Verwendung von Operatoren im Fokus, um eure Daten zu manipulieren. Ihr könnt sie für mathematische Operationen nutzen (+, -, *, /), um Vergleiche (=, <, >) und Logiken (AND, OR) durchzuführen sowie Zeichenketten (+) zu kombinieren.

Time intelligences

We teach you how to work with time operators (YEAR, DATEPART) to perform calculations with date fields, which form the basis for year-to-date logic and much more.

Your masterpiece: The creation of your Tableau dashboard forms the core of the Tableau training. With sophisticated visualizations and interactive elements, you start an intuitive Tableau reporting.

Visualizations & diagram types

You will learn to master the most common visualization options in Tableau. You will then be able to quickly transform data into clearly understandable and meaningful graphics using different chart types.

Dashboard Design & Best Practices

This section explains how to create appealing and functional dashboards while adhering to design principles and best practices. The focus here is on the balance between aesthetics and functionality, which is essential for user-friendliness.

Use of filter panel & filter options

Participants will learn how to use filter options and the filter panel to make dashboards and visualizations more dynamic and interactive.
